Having been brought up with animals, both wild and domestic, in Kenya, where I was born, my love for them has always run deeply through my life, and colours much that I do today. My later upbringing and adult life in Devon has only confirmed and strengthened that empathy, as many Artists who move to Devon for that very purpose will agree. Having served my apprenticeship, if you like - showing, breeding and painting dogs to commission, I decided to approach the foremost publisher of canine art, "Sally Mitchell Fine Art". Their painters include the leading contemporary artists in their fields, Malcolm Coward, Mick Lawston, John Trickett and Paul Doyle. So aiming, if not a little high, I was thrilled to be included in their ranks and like them, under the "Sally Mitchell" stewardship, I am now working on collectors plates, for the Danbury Mint. With my first solo exhibition successfully behind me, and having painted over 50 breeds and with 15 limited edition prints (One of those with a specialist American Company based in Washington) and commissions of a wide and varied nature, including Highland Cattle and a Red Panda...I am enjoying every moment of my chosen career.
